Shiite militias and Daesh, two faces of the same violence in Iraq
Since 2014, the Shiite militias and Daesh have been the two main actors fuelling the climate of insecurity in the country. If analysing their opposing factors them has become common, highlighting their similarities allows us to dissect the violent mechanisms that have shaken Iraq since the Second Iraqi Civil War (2014-2017). Through their confrontation, two distinct faces of violence emerge.
