Violence and Conflict

Contrary to popular belief, conflict and violence oppose each other far more than they complement each other, with the notorious but unstable or lasting exception of instrumental violence. Therefore, the exit and prevention of violence should involve efforts to recognise the conflictual nature of the issues, and to dissociate it from any use of violence.
