Iraq’s future hangs in the balance. Drought and climate change are wreaking havoc on its social, political, and economic stability. This crisis demands immediate action.

Join us for a critical symposium to collaboratively develop solutions that will safeguard #Iraq‘s future. By analysing the profound effects of drought and climate change on Iraq’s landscapes – political, economic, and demographic – we can foster understanding and dialogue to build resilience and adaptation strategies.

This symposium brings together local and international experts, academics, government officials, and stakeholders and examine the challenges posed by climate change-induced drought and develop actionable solutions to address its multifaceted effects.

The symposium is organized in partnership between UKH’s Centre for Environmental Studies (CES), CFRI – Centre Français de Recherche sur l’Irak*, Bahr Alolom Forum, and powered by Vision Education

Violence is a global phenomenon, requiring consideration across various spatial and temporal scales. It operates within frameworks ranging from the global and planetary scale to individual and personal dimensions, encompassing regional levels such as Europe and the Middle East, as well as national and local ones. It emerges from both immediate, current events, and processes that unfold over the long term.
