Soran University

A conference hosted by the University of Soran on the upcoming book of Dr. Adel Bakawan on the "fragmentation of the Middle East", where he had the honor to speak. Two hours of deep and engaging discussion with bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD students, as well as a wider public audience. This event took place on April 20th, 2025, in Duhok, Iraqi Kurdish Region.

Workshop NSI, UKH and EISMENA – Research Methodology

The research methodology program was jointly developed by EISMENA, Nishtman Strategy Institute and hosted at the University of Kurdistan-Hewlêr. The program covered the research methodologies in sociology, history, foreign policy, borders, and political science, taught by Michel Wieviorka, Jean Marcou, Jérôme Chapuisat, Haouès Seniguer, and Daniel Meier. This event took place on April 20th until May 4th, in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdish Region.

Conference at the Paris Senate

EISMENA (CFRI at the time) was invited to speak on the subject of Women's Rights in Iraq and Kurdistan. Based on a report undertaken by EISMENA and funded by Vision Education that analyzed women's conditions of life in Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The event took place on September 27th, 2024, in Paris, France.

International Symposium on Violence and Climate Change in Erbil

EISMENA (previously CFRI) was invited to a critical symposium to collaboratively develop solutions that will safeguard Iraq's future. This symposium brings together local and international experts, academics, government officials, and stakeholders and examine the challenges posed by climate change-induced drought and develop actionable solutions to address its multifaceted effects. The symposium is organized in partnership between UKH's Centre for Environmental Studies (CES), CFRI - Centre Français de Recherche sur l'Irak, Bahr Alolom Forum, and powered by Vision Education.
